once my engine is back together I'll let you beat me down Meremere Hunt,
just for a giggle, and I still have yet to give my car a run down the strip
yet

Who's got a 7M that'll race me down at Meremere some day?

Actually, to BHG's, yes they are :P
No way I would ever defend them on that count..

My point was that they are prone to BHGing for a number of reasons, of which
under height block decks are not high on the list.

Stuart.

lmao, k i'll explain more ;) yes my nicely underheight block deck was one of
the reasons sorta... but also having a head gasket with a smaller bore size
than my pistons kinda add to the piston slappa :)
so in theory... if the head gasket has a smaller bore size than the block
and the pistons do protrude above the block they would hit the gasket yes?
i thought about it a little more after my last rant :P

Cheers

Suze

Yep, fair point.
however, just to add...

No matter WHAT, if your HG has a smaller bore than your, well, bore, it will
die, and die fast. The metal fire ring will burn out, end of story.
NEVER EVER EVER put a head gasket on an engine with a smaller HG bore that the
actual bores!

Stuart.

now that is where i failed severly in repairing my head gasket the first
time, i did not check to see if my pistons were oversized or anything :(
silly me and yes the fire rings did burn out as my link in a previous msg
would have shown so this time round i'm doin it properly :)
i have a 83.5mm bore.. what size bore should i get for the new hks head
gasket so that i will be safe :)

Cheers

Suze
